Liverpool were AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! HORRIBLE ATROCIOUS. THEY SUCKED!

It’s performances like these that make Dirk Kuyt look good. (If he played)

Damien Plessis can’t pass the ball to save his own life, he just can’t pass the ball!! He looks extremely uncomfortable on the ball and nervous when on the ball, I think 90% of his balls are wayard balls.

Degen and Dossena. Where shall I start? Degen’s performance can be summed up pretty much by a word - crap. Dossenna…why the heck in the world did we sell off Risse and bought Dossena for 7 million pounds I can’t fathom…

El Zhar was SLOW, he lacks pace…can’t see how he can ever make an impact on a game. Fact is Rafa don’t have the midas touch when it comes to grooming youngsters like Wenger. He may say that Arsene Wenger paid big money but lets not forget Rafa spent BIG on several non-performers..

http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,1776_4499527,00.html

Ok, back to the Bolton match. We’ll have our big guns back and looks like Stephen Darby will be selected to play…things should get back to normal - with a scrapy 1-0 victory.

Ok, enough of negativity

I was watching the first 20 minutes of the match on TV when a familiar feeling greeted me. More of the same old same old liverpool struggling against a bottom side (no disrespect to Albion!). Albion played well in the opening minutes and the second half, credit to them not trying to defend in numbers. If they did, I’ve doubts if we would win 3-0!

Watch Highlights:

Let’s take a look at the positives.

We manage to lead without Torres, sure he’s an important player but we won’t crumble without him! Kean scored a brace and I cannot imagine why Rafa took him off instead of Kuyt…actually I can. He has an obsession with Kuyt.

We didn’t concede a goal! Granted, the attacking force of Albion doesn’t exactly strike fear in defender’s hearts but its still a good clean sheet especially considering we conceded 3 goals in the past 2 games.

Still too early to say how close we are to being genuine title contenders but as long as we keep winning and picking up 3 points, we’ll be there or thereabouts!

The Barclays Premier League is about to begin and I’ve identified several questions that need answering…

#1. Will Man Utd triumph and grab their 18th league title - thus matching Liverpool’s record?

For many Pool fans, that is almost unthinkable. But unthinkable it may be, it is an undeniable fact that Man Utd are looking solid. Very solid. The best hope we can have is that deco and co will come up with something special….

#2. Will Newcastle struggle - again?

Kevin Keegan is back and he’s made some changes and added some new signings. The latest being Coloccini. Can he plug the gap in defence? That is a big ask considering his predecessors have done before him…Kevin Keegan will probably struggle. Again. And get sacked. Again.

#3. Will anyone break the big 4?

I’m gonna risk it and say YES! If Liverpool and Arsenal lose their concentrate mid season or late season, I’ve feeling Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Spurs (and even Man City!) could pounce. Spurs have signed shrewdly and scored some very impressive hits in the market like getting Luka Modric. IF they can hang on to Berbatov, they have a team as solid as any other in the league…

#4. Are referees going to take center stage again?

Yes I would say. Hasn’t that always been the case for the past seasons?

Seems like all the pre-season hype and promise has come to naught. We’ve had been drip-fed with excitement and anticipation with our late pre-season bloom but…ultimately Liverpool floundered when it mattered most. I saw a comment on teamtalk.com’s website where a Man Utd fan said this was one of the worst performance an English team ever put in Europe.

While that might be a tad exaggerated, it is not far off either. We were horribly awful. At least Rafa didn’t try to act like there were ‘positives’ to take out of that game. It highlights the old problems that plauged us and some other new holes as well. For one, Dossena doesn’t look like he’s worth 7 million pounds. Heck he doesn’t even look like he’s worth 2 mil! Dirk Kuyt CONTINUES to frustrate Liverpool fans with his ineffective display.

When can Rafa realise that ‘hard working’ won’t ever equate to class nor ability. Here’s a sad sad clip of the match’s highlights:

Transfer Speculation

The last we heard, Degen, the right back is going to sign for Liverpool on a bosman. Christiano is going to Real Madrid for 100 million pounds after the Champions League final. Arsenal Moves for Werder Bremen’s Diego and Thaksin puts the ENTIRE Man City squad for sale.

3rd place for the reds? Very likely…I shall now turn my attention to the match happening this Sunday at Old Trafford…

A Liverpool Win?

(Liverpoolfc.tv)

Many pundits (and ex liverpudians) have come out. Ian Rush is one such example. He mentioned that, with the form that we’re currently experiencing, there is no reason to believe we cannot beat Man Yoo. Well Said Rusdie!

It’s easy to get carried away at times especially with the rich vein of form that Liverpool and, most notably, Torres is experiencing. Which leads up to my 2nd point of the preview…

Torres Vs Ronaldo

 vs
(teamtalk.com)

Both hugely talented, both has movie star looks and both are in a rich vein of form. Of come they have some differences, one is a winger, one is a striker, one dives, one doesn’t, one organises romps in his house, one doesn’t…

It’ll be an interesting battle to see how both of them fair and the spotlight will undoubtedly fall on both of them. I expect to see Rio Ferdinand roughly up ‘El Nino’ and I get lots of ‘whining vibes’ from Ronaldo…I don’t know…we shall see this Sunday!

It is clear that he isn’t a winger, sure he crosses better them Pennant but he just does not cut it as a winger. Can’t understand the manager’s insistence on playing him despite having Benayoun in the team. BAH, a win is a win, we get the 3 points and I’m happy.

Whats funny was that the commentators were suggesting that we could make an improbable sudden entry into the title race… Since we’re to play Manchester United and Arsenal very soon, if we were to grab WINS in those, then you never know…

Improbable? Yeap. Impossible? Nope.
